The refreshed Renault Kangoo gets extra trim levels, cleaner engines and more standard equipment

Renault has revealed upgrades for its Kangoo small van, which include two new trim levels – entry-level Business and top-of-the range Business + - as well as more standard equipment and cleaner, Euro 6-compliant diesel engines. Buyers will also have the option of going for an all-electric model.
The Kangoo goes up against rivals such as the Mercedes Citan, Volkswagen Caddy and the Ford Transit Connect in the compact van class and the revisions are designed to help it keep pace.

The new standard equipment available on Business models includes a full steel bulkhead, DAB radio, USB connectivity, an auxiliary port and a full-adjustable driver’s seat. All-electric Z.E. models are only available in this trim level.
For an extra £700, you can upgrade to Business + trim which adds features such as electrically-operated folding door mirrors, one-touch electric front windows, air-conditioning and rear parking sensors.

Under the bonnet, there’s a choice of diesel or electric power, with outputs ranging from 74 to 109bhp for the diesel models and 59bhp for the electric model. In terms of CO2 emissions, the diesel models emit between 110 and 130g/km of CO2, which equates to average fuel consumption of between 50.4 and 67.3mpg. Naturally, the electric Z.E. models have no tailpipe emissions and will therefore fall into the lowest tax brackets.
The van is available to order now and pricing is unchanged compared to the previous models. Entry-level models start at £13,200, while the most expensive Z.E model is priced from £18,062 after the Government’s Plug-in Car Grant.
