Christie’s to Offer the Largest Pink Diamond of Its Kind Ever to Come to Auction

On November 10, Christie’s International will sell a cushion-shaped Fancy Vivid Pink Diamond at its Geneva Magnificent Jewels sale.
The 16.08-carat diamond—the largest of its kind ever to be offered at auction—is set in a ring, with a double row of pavé white diamonds encircling the main stone and a row of tiny circular-cut diamonds trellising the platinum band. The diamond is classified as Fancy Vivid (a distinction only one in 100,000 diamonds achieve) due to both its solid pink hue and even color distribution. Naturally pink diamonds are the most sought-after colored gems,
meaning the extraordinary gem should easily reach its low estimate of $22.3 million
